Description
Our glasses are colorful everyday sweeteners and bringers of joy with their delicious colors and shapes. The colors speak volumes to us, and the playfulness can be seen in our products. We believe in the power of colors! We want to always keep an open mind to different things in life, and encourage you to boldly realize your interior design dreams, for example one colorful glass at a time!
We make our glass products by hand in our glass workshop in Kustavi handicraft village. We use domestic recycled glass, depending on availability, and partly high-quality German glass. Using recycled glass means that we use less raw materials and energy compared to traditional production made from new raw materials.
The nature of mouth-blown glass objects includes a varied and unique appearance, and small irregularities bring nuance to them. Varying shades and the number of dots and air bubbles belong to handmade glass, and they make the product unique.
Our company's values strongly include domestic manufacturing by hand, which has been guiding our work for a long time. We are located in Kustavi's handicraft village, and although Paratiisapaja is its own independent company, in practice we are almost one. Paratiisapaja founder Pia Metsävainio and her sister Essi Vuontisjärvi are the team behind Kustavin Savipaja and Kästyökylä. Kustavi's craft village has strong traditions of domestic ceramic production for almost fifty years. A key value for us is supporting domestic handicrafts. It can be seen not only in our own production (glass, ceramics, candles, natural cosmetics) but also in the fact that for decades we have been offering stalls free of charge to artisans trying out their wings.
