Our company values strongly include domestic handcrafting, which has guided our work for a long time. We are located in the Kustavi Craft Village, and although Paratiisipaja is its own independent company, in practice we are almost one. Paratiisipaja’s founder Pia Metsävainio and her sister Essi Vuontisjärvi are the duo behind Kustavi Pottery and Craft Village. The Kustavi Craft Village has strong traditions of domestic ceramic production for almost fifty years. A central value for us is supporting domestic craftsmanship. This is evident not only in our own production (glass, ceramics, candles, natural cosmetics) but also in the fact that for decades we have offered sales spaces free of charge to craftspeople trying their wings.
